Idea And Philosophy Of The Fätzig-Camp
The so-called Fätzig-Camp is a mixture between summer camp with well-known festival character and a camp with political contents. This orientation tries to fill the gap between (often sheer commercial) festivals and various camps with sheer political targets and therefore creates a point of
convergence. It focuses especially on participation through free will and the creation of a space in which both active and passive participation is possible. The idea is to dissolve the boundaries between consuming and being active and to finally abolish them.
In addition it is tried to create a space where young people from different subcultural backgrounds can meet, establish contacts and share experiences. Young people living in right-wing dominated rural areas in East-saxonia are offered the possibility to meet each other in a place of refuge. Therefore the basic idea is to support alternative, independent youth cultures which represent a counterpole to an increasingly superficial culture bereft of content. Furthermore it is aimed not to offer any breeding ground for right-wing and racist subculture.
How To Join
To get the camp prepared many things still have to be done. Who would to join during the preparation should contact us and ask for the next preparational meetings. They usually take place on site. There are also some things to be done during the camp. It is possible to come already on Thursday to help erecting the camp and on Sunday people will be needed for the disassembly. For a better coordination please let us know ahead if you will be there. If you want to offer a workshop or present your group let us know ahead, too, so that we can put it into the programme.
Furthermnore people will be needed in the kitchen (Vokü) and there wil be an info tent at the entrance that needs to be serviced.
